Club Night News No. 1 2019-20

Welcome back to another season of Club Nights.

Week 1 we welcomed 13 new families to the Wizards family and introduced are new Dolphin Timing System.

We announced this seasons Club Captains – Cooper Verrall and Ebony Campbell – Congratulations to you both and we look forward to you leading us throughout this season.

We presented Qld Development Squad t-shirts to Ebony Campell & Jess Mikitis (Jnr Dev Squad) and Jordan Conroy (Bronze Squad).

Oli Martin was presented with his Qld Record from the QLD School Swimming Championships.

Call out for parents to learn one of the other more specialised Volunteer roles such as Marshall, Chief Timekeeper, Starter, Check Starter and Judge. We need some new parents to step up in these roles so that we have a number of parents available to rotate in these roles throughout the season. All training will be provided so whenever you think you might want to learn something new let yes know.

Reminder about emailing competition@brswim.org.au if you are not able to attend a club night. That way I can amend the program and we don’t have races with empty lanes and also your swimmers are not penalised and do not lose points the count towards end of season improvement point trophies and also mid-season towel awards.

The new timing system worked well and with a little bit of tweaking in the background it looks like to will a beneficial asset to the club.

The swimmers were on fire in the water tonight with a stack of pb’s and plenty of qualifying times to move up to the next distance.

Thanks to Abby & Donna in the canteen and the volunteers on the bbq everyone had full tummies and a fun night!
