Record Season & National’s Qualifiers
Swimmers Jordan Conroy & Danika Harvey have qualified to represent the club at this year’s Australian Age Championships to be held in Brisbane from 16th April through to the 23rd April.
Pictured with President Andrew McDonald and Patron Stirling Hinchliffe at the recent Club Age Championships, Jordan will compete in the Boys 17 & 18 years 50m and 100m Freestyle, whilst Danika will swim in the Girls 14 years 100m & 200m Breaststroke.
Jordan broke two longstanding records in the Championships week, the Open 100m Butterfly (set 29 years ago) and the Open 100m Freestyle (set 20 years ago) whilst Danika broke the Open 100m Breaststroke record.
Swimmer Maddie Buechler eclipsed the Girls 14 years 100m Freestyle record at this meet and the Open 50m Freestyle Club record.
The greatest number of swimmers in over a decade participated at these championships the only event that has been conducted every years in the club’s 36 year history.
The recent Club Age Championships completed one of the most successful season’s in the club’s history with a substantial increase in membership, enrollments in the Swim School and member participation and engagement.
